Welcome to Wilshire's Restaurant
Wilshire's Restaurant is owned and operated by Don and Laura Wilshire. They quickly began renovating the house after purchasing in late 2007. Throughout the 14-month process it was important to them to allow its antiquity to shine. The character of the building lives on in this community thanks to the Wilshires.
The John Payne House, now home to Wilshire's Restaurant, was originally constructed about 1790 by General John Payne and his wife "Bestsy" Johnson Payne. The 11-room home is considered an excellent example of Kentucky's pre-Federal period stone architecture and has remained a Scott County landmark for over 200 years.
Located in the Historic Home of General John Payne, Wilshire's menu reflects it's location. We are dedicated to restoring Historic Kentucky Cuisine. From drinks, appetizers and sandwiches to a Four Course Gourmet Dinner you will be right at home in our bar, covered patio, or full-service dining room. Wilshire's provides you with the variety to dine with us nightly. Come see us and see for yourself.
